Fr. Hewko is planning again to hold Ignatian Retreats (a week for the men and a week for the women) this year. The dates are as follows:
  • Women’s Retreat will be Monday, June 27th (beginning at 12:30 PM) through Saturday, July 2nd (ending after lunch).

  • Men’s Retreat will be Monday, July 4th (beginning at 12:30 PM) through Saturday, July 9th (ending after lunch).

*Please see the brochure below for more details.*  May many graces flow from these powerful retreats!

Please contact Mr. Tim Cline at sspxmariancorps@gmail.com or 770-820-6476 with any questions.

*Fr. Hewko is also asking for generous souls to assist with the cooking for any portion of time during those two weeks!
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Update on Kitchen Help Needed During Retreats

Good news! The Men's Retreat is covered with 3 adults and 2 teenagers volunteering to work the kitchen.
However, there are still several spots to fill in the kitchen the week of June 26th through July 2nd during the Women's Retreat. As of now, we have 2 adults that have committed to working the kitchen during this week. They'll need 2 or 3 more volunteers to work effectively/comfortably.

To encourage volunteers, we thought it would be helpful to:
1. List the specific jobs of the kitchen staff, many of which do not require cooking skills.
2. Make known that these jobs will be rotated throughout the week amongst the volunteers, to ensure, for example, not one specific person is washing dishes all day long, everyday.
3. This rotation schedule will be posted on the door of the kitchen so everyone is clear on what their day holds.
4. One of the adult volunteers will be, not only working the rotation schedule, but overseeing the entire week, having a pre-planned menu set, including the grocery list.
5. Kitchen staff can stay at the Red Rock Ranch free of charge with meals provided, thank you, Fr. Hewko!
6. Share this quote from one of the volunteers: "Working the kitchen is my Retreat!"

Kitchen Staff Jobs:
Ordering the groceries online
Driving to pick up the pre-packaged groceries, curbside
Servers to carry food out from the kitchen to the priests' table and the retreatants' tables
Clearing the tables after meals and resetting them for the next meal.
Sweeping the floors
Keeping the drink station full (coffee, hot water for tea, bottled waters)
Meal prep (everything from chopping fruit & veges to main dishes)
Dishes, of course! No one is alone in this...1 to wash, 1 to rinse, 1 or 2 to dry and put away
Washing/drying kitchen towels (the washer & dryer are right there in the kitchen!)

Drivers to make the airport runs to KCI Airport are needed to pick up and take back retreatants on these 2 days:
Sunday, June 26th
Saturday, July 2nd

Sunday July 3rd, Saturday July 9th, & Sunday July 10th are covered already with drivers.

Any willing souls, please call Beth at 770-820-6476 or send an email to sspxmariancorps@gmail.com
Thank you and God bless!

A sincere THANK YOU! to all the good souls (you know who you are!) who have volunteered to help keep the kitchen running and make the airport transportation possible for Fr. Hewko's Ignatian Retreats, which are fast approaching.

All the areas needed are filled and it's expected all will be running smoothly.

Knowing that Dear God is never outdone in generosity, may you receive more than you give...

Thank you again & God bless!
