Questions Surround Francis’ Decree of Exemption for the FSSP

gloria.tv | February 23, 2022

No official chancel has reported about the existence of the decree, exempting the Fraternity of Saint Peter, from Traditionis Custodes, not the Vatican Press Office, nor VaticanNews.va or L'Osservatore Romano.

IlSismografo (February 22) calls this an “almost clandestine” decree and asks whether this is “a new singular juridical figure.”

For Fabio Battiston (AldoMariaValli.it, February 22) the question arises, if the decree overrules Cardinal De Donatis’ October 2021 decision forbidding the Roman Rite Easter triduum in all Roman churches.

The satisfaction of the FSSP after the decree leaves Battiston “extremely perplexed.” In his opinion, one cannot selfishly rejoice if all the vile things expressed in Traditions custodes "are not intended for the Fraternity." Such an exultation is for him totally out of place.
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre
