Sunday within of Corpus Christi - June 11, 2023 - "Whosoever Hateth His Brother is a Murderer" (MA)

"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre

At the beginning of his sermon for this Mass within the Octave of Corpus Christi, Fr. Hewko reminds the faithful that standing during the Pater Noster at a High Mass is a modern invention.

Many older folks who attended the traditional Mass prior to the Bugnini changes in the 1950's and 1960's remember always kneeling (never standing) after the words of Consecration, out of respect for the Blessed Sacrament on the altar.

Dr. Carol Byrne recently wrote about this in this short Q&A, entitled Liturgical Calisthetics.
