My dear friends,
There is much being said about Pope Francis' upcoming Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart on March 25, 2022. Since the text of the formula being used was released a few days ago, it has caused a myriad of emotions.
Some believe that there is enough of the 'essentials' of Heaven's request to possibly fulfil the requirements (e.g. see here). If this is true, wouldn't it be incredibly ironic that one of the most corrupt popes in history (Pope Francis) may be the one to fulfill, more closely than Pius XII or JPII, the necessary requirements for the complete Consecration?
Others think that the formula and other requirements are not being completely done, that Francis' Consecration will fall into the same category as the Consecrations of Popes Pius XII and John Paul II - that of an incomplete Consecration (see here).
On the other hand, the sedevacantists and any one else who denies Francis is the pope, are screaming that this is a sacrilege because of the Conciliar verbiage and because of Pope Francis' errors.
Where the truth lies we don't know. We may have a better idea after the Consecration.
But whatever the outcome, the very best we laity can do is to try tomorrow to honor Our Lady, to make prayers of reparation, to offer ourselves to the Immaculate Heart, and to pray especially for the clergy, for it was to the pope and the bishops this dictate was given.
Let us leave aside all the clamor. Let us follow the advice of Fr. Hewko and Fr. Ruiz, who remind us to humbly offer our prayers in reparation to the Immaculate Heart. The rest is in God's Hands. He has foreseen all that will occur. March 25th is the Feast of the Annunciation. Let us imitate the great humility of Our Lady as She was greeted by the Angel Gabriel, whose feast is today. And may God's will be done.
