A tabernacle was stolen overnight May 9 from St. Bartholomew Church in Katy, Texas, and found empty on May 11 near a Burger King.
Fr Christopher Plant, the parish-priest, spoke of a “sacrilege.” Dominican Friar Adrian Fonseca reported on Twitter.com that the tabernacle was cracked open, leaving the gold behind. Evidently, the tabernacle was not stolen for its value but for the consecrated hosts inside.
