Vatican asks for same concessions for 'reconciliation' that are in the Doctrinal Declaration of 2012
#3
From the Vatican's required 'Profession of Faith' for those SSPX priests who wish to 'reconcile' with Rome:
Quote:with religious submission of will and intellect, I adhere to the teachings which either the Roman Pontiff or the College of Bishops proclaim when exercising their authentic Magisterium, even if they do not intend to proclaim them by a definitive act.

Similarly, from the Doctrinal Declaration:
Quote:“We declare that we accept the doctrine regarding the Roman Pontiff and regarding the college of bishops, with the Pope as its head, which is taught by the dogmatic constitution Pastor Aeternus of Vatican I and by the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium of Vatican II, chapter 3 (de constitutione hierarchica Ecclesiae et in specie de episcopatu), explained and interpreted by the nota explicativa praevia in this same chapter.”

An excerpt from Archbishop Lefebvre on the error of Collegiality found in both the Doctrinal Declaration and in the Vatican's suggest 'Adherence' form:

Quote:[...] collegiality of the Magisterium is equivalent to paralysis of the magisterium.

Our Lord instructed individuals, not a collectivity, to tend His sheep. The Apostles obeyed Our Lord's orders, and until the twentieth century it was thus. These days we hear of the Church being in a state of permanent council, continual collegiality. The results have become apparent. Everything is upside down, the faithful no longer know which way to turn.

The democratization of government was followed quite naturally by the democratization of the Magisterium which took place under the impulse of the famous slogan “collegiality,” spread abroad by the communist, Protestant and progressive press.

They have collegialized the pope's government and that of the bishops with a presbyterial college, that of the parish priest with a lay council, the whole broken down into innumerable commissions, councils, sessions, etc. The new Code of Canon Law is completely permeated with this concept. The pope is described as the head of the College of Bishops. We find this doctrine already suggested in the Council document Lumen Gentium, according to which the College of Bishops, together with the pope, exercises supreme power in the Church in habitual and constant manner. This is not a change for the better; this doctrine of double supremacy is contrary to the teaching and Magisterium of the Church. It is contrary to the definitions of Vatican Council I and to Pope Leo XIII's encyclical Satis Cognitum. The Pope alone has supreme power; he communicates it only to the degree he considers advisable, and only in exceptional circumstances. The pope alone has power of jurisdiction over the whole world.

We are witnessing therefore a restriction on the freedom of the Supreme Pontiff. Yes, this is a real revolution!

And again, Archbishop Lefebvre points out the error of Collegiality:

Quote:The Collegial-Democratic Government of the Church

Having undermined the unity of the faith, the Modernists of today strive to undermine the unity of government and the hierarchical structure of the Church.

The doctrine, already insinuated by the document Lumen Gentium of Vatican Council II, is taken up again, explicitly, by the new Code of Canon Law (c. 336). According to this doctrine, the College of Bishops united with the Pope, has an equal possession of the supreme authority in the Church, in a habitual and constant manner.

This doctrine-of a double supreme authority is contrary to the teaching and to the practice of the Magisterium of the Church, especially in Vatican Council I (DS 3055), and in the Encyclical of Leo xIII, Satis cognitum.
The Pope alone has this supreme authority which he can communicate, in the measure which he judges expedient and in extraordinary circumstances.

To this grave error is attached the democratic orientation of the Church, with the power residing in the "People of God" such as it is defined in the new Code. This Jansenist error is condemned by the Bull Auctorem Fidei of Pius VI(CS 2592).

This tendency to cause the "base" to participate in the exercise of power is found in the institution of the Synodal and Episcopal Conferences, in the Priestly and Pastoral Councils, and in the multiplication of Roman Commissions and national commissions, as in the heart of religious congregations (concerning this, see Vatican Council 1, DS 3061; new Code of Canon Law, c. 447).

The source of the anarchy and disorder which today reign throughout the Church is to be found in this degradation of authority.
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre
