In an effort to incentivise residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, West Virginia is launching a lottery program that would give away guns to vaccinated vaccinated individuals that win the drawing.

Gov. Jim Justice ® said in a news conference Tuesday that the raffle will take place from June 20 to Aug. 4. Prizes for the lottery winners include cash, firearms and trucks.

Five custom hunting rifles and five custom hunting shotguns will be will be the firearms awarded to winners of the drawing on Father's Day on June 20.

Two brand-new, custom outfitted trucks, 25 getaways to West Virginia’s state parks, five lifetime hunting and fishing licenses and one $1 million cash prize will also be given away in the June 20 lottery..

For eligible students aged 12-25, there will be two full, four-year scholarships to any institution in the state.

Justice said $1 million will be given away to lottery winners for five weeks in a row.

On Aug. 4, one person will be awarded $1,588,000, and a runner up will receive $588,000.

Residents must receive their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to be eligible for the drawings. West Virginians already vaccinated are eligible.

The governor said in the news conference:
Quote:There are going to be so many wonderful prizes that you can win, it will blow you away. We are going to make a few West Virginians millionaires before this is over. Some people will win trucks and scholarships and on and on, but we've got to get you vaccinated first.

Last week, Justice announced that, upon vaccination, people ages 16-35 were eligible for a savings bond or a $100 gift card through the state government.

Gavin Newsom Announces Taco Bell Giveaway to Vaccinated Californians

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday that Taco Bell will be giving away free tacos to residents who are vaccinated.

In addition, he announced, Chipotle restaurants will be offering “FREE QUESO,” while various California sports teams will be offering discounts as an incentive to encourage more locals to take the coronavirus vaccine.

The June 15 date for the giveaway coincides with the state’s official reopening, as coronavirus restrictions will be lifted.

Taco Bell describes the “Doritos Taco Loco” as follows: “The Nacho Cheese Doritos® Locos Tacos is a crunchy taco shell made from Nacho Cheese Doritos® and is filled with seasoned beef, crispy lettuce, and shredded cheddar cheese.”

The taco giveaway is only the latest incentive that California has offered as an incentive for vaccination. Millions of the state’s residents — the most vulnerable, and the most eager — have already been vaccinated, but many remain reluctant.

According to the Los Angeles Times, as of Friday morning, 55.9% of Californians had received at least one vaccine dose. However, the number of daily doses has fallen sharply since the peak in April, and officials want to pick up the slack. The FDA’s temporary suspension of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine may have contributed to the slowdown.

Last month, Gov. Newsom announced a $1.5 million lottery prize to “10 lucky Californians” who took the vaccine. Other states, flush with federal stimulus cash and with few restrictions, have tried similar incentives to promote vaccination.

President Joe Biden set a goal of having 70% of Americans vaccinated by July 4, but the U.S. is unlikely to reach that.
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. No jab, no phone: Unvaccinated to have SIM cards blocked, Pakistan’s Punjab govt says

RT | 11 Jun, 2021 07:47

Punjab’s provincial government is turning to coercive measures to increase participation in its Covid-19 vaccination program, after unveiling plans to disable the SIM cards of people who decline to get jabbed.

The extreme decision was made during a meeting of high-ranking civil and military officials chaired by Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid.

Rashid said that the policy would disable SIM cards belonging to those who fail to get  vaccinated “beyond a certain time.”

“We are doing all we can to compel people to get vaccinated… The government cannot allow individuals, who do not want to get vaccinated, to risk lives of those who are already vaccinated,” the health minister told Pakistan’s Express Tribune. She said that the provincial government would devise a timeline for the policy’s implementation once it received formal approval from the National Command and Operation Center, which coordinates Pakistan’s national response to Covid-19.

Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Health Department announced the measure on Thursday in a tweet detailing the outcome of the meeting.

“Mobile SIMS of people not getting vaccinated may be blocked,” the department wrote.

Officials later signaled that the plan was moving forward.

“[A] final decision has been taken to block the mobile SIM cards of people not getting vaccinated,” Punjab Specialized Healthcare Department spokesman Syed Hammad Raza told Dawn, a Pakistani daily.

Citing a senior health department official, the paper said that the Punjab government will seek help from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) in order to implement the policy.

The measure is designed to counter “negative propaganda” about the jab and ensure that vaccination targets are met, Dawn reported, citing the official. The provincial government is aiming to vaccinate 40 million residents by November.

In addition to the SIM card restrictions, authorities might also ban unvaccinated people from going to parks, restaurants and malls, according to media reports.

Punjab is the most populous province of Pakistan, containing more than half the country’s total population, as well as the country’s second-largest city, Lahore. The regional government began its vaccination drive in March, but has struggled to drum up enthusiasm for the public health initiative. Mobile vaccination camps are being deployed near religious shrines across the province in an effort to make the jab more accessible.

Governments around the world have adopted a range of measures to promote vaccination efforts, but some policies have been criticized as gimmicky or heavy-handed.

In the US state of Washington, legal marijuana retailers are giving free joints to those who’ve taken at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. Restrictions have also been used to compel people to get the shot. In some countries, such as Israel, unvaccinated citizens are barred from entering certain venues.

Punjab isn’t the only region in Pakistan to take a more extreme approach to vaccination. In Sindh province, plans have been announced to stop the salaries of government employees who refuse to receive the jab.

And now for some negative 'encouragement' - I'm sure these types of reports will only increase as the fall academic start date draws closer:

No Vax? No sports. Unvaccinated students face restrictions at Maryland university
Vaccine-based segregation at "welcoming" Salisbury University

SALISBURY, Maryland, June 14, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Students at a U.S. university who refuse to take an experimental COVID vaccine will be prohibited from participating in athletics and forced to live alone in single dorm rooms.

Salisbury University (SU) in Maryland has rolled out its mandatory vaccine protocol for in-person learning in September. The new protocols demand that all individuals who are not fully vaccinated must be tested for COVID twice a week. The university allows for a religious or medical exemption, but students who take advantage of this must still be tested twice per week.

All fully vaccinated students must complete a consent form allowing the University access to their vaccination records to prove their compliance with the mandate.

The new protocols were put in place in response to the state of Maryland's May 23, 2021 COVID Vaccination Mandate.

“Please note that students who do not receive a vaccination or exemption will be prohibited from participation in all SU athletics, including varsity, intramural and club sports,” states the university on its website.

“Students living on campus who do not receive the vaccine, regardless of exemption status, will be assigned to, and required to pay for, single rooms and will not be allowed to share rooms with other students.”

The mandate further states, “In addition, those who do not receive the vaccination or an exemption  will not have access to SU fitness facilities,  the ability to  utilize SU fleet vehicles  and will be restricted from SU-sponsored domestic and international travel  as well as other high-risk activities as deemed by the University Health Team.”

Unvaccinated students will still be permitted to study at the university, but it is not clear as yet what restrictions will be placed on their participation in lectures and other resources necessary to their degrees.

This month SU President Dr. Charles Wight strongly encouraged all students to be vaccinated, stating, “You've heard about various restrictions for those that remain unvaccinated. We urge you to get the vaccine to help protect everyone here on campus and that will allow you to fully participate in all the SU has to offer.”

SU is participating in the Vaccine Challenge promulgated by the Biden Administration. On June 2, 2021, the Oval Office released their National Month of Action to get 70% of US adults vaccinated by July 4, 2021.

To be a “Vaccine Champion University” in the COVID-19 College Challenge, the institute must commit to ensuring every student, faculty member, and staff member knows how and where to get a vaccine, to having “vaccine champions” on campus to implement the plan, and to bring the vaccines on-site this summer.

SU is one of 596 colleges and universities across the US that has become a so-called “vaccine champion”.

Despite segregating students according to vaccination status, SU prides itself on being welcoming and inclusive. The SU Student Guide for Returning to Campus states: “As we adjust to operating during a pandemic, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting and sustaining a welcoming, respectful, accessible, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members of the Salisbury University community. We stand against xenophobia, incivility, racism, ableism, and all forms of bias, harassment, and discrimination.”

The “welcoming environment” also encourages members of the university community to inform against each other and visitors for “non-compliance”. To help students keep the campus “safe” from COVID-19, SU has provided a system to stem the frequency of COVID protocol violations. Conveniently, they offer an online “COVID19 Non-Compliance Report Form”.

On May 27, 2021, Maryland residents descended on their capital city to protest the state’s vaccine mandate for college students.

“I’m opposed to mandating anyone to get this vaccination,” Maryland House Delegate Lauren Arikan told LifeSiteNews.

“It’s still in its infancy in terms of research, and mandating things that are under emergency use authorization is inappropriate.”

Children’s Health Defense, an organization committed to vaccine safety, has provided legal resources for students facing vaccine mandates.

LifeSiteNews reached to SU for comment and has not yet received a response.

Rhodes College in Tennessee to Charge Unvaccinated Students $1,500 Per Semester

GP | June 18, 2021

Rhodes College in Tennessee has announced that they will be charging unvaccinated students $1,500 per semester to “cover the costs of mandatory testing.”
The college announced the new policy in  a in a letter on June 8.

“In anticipation of FDA approval, we are strongly recommending all students be vaccinated this summer in order to not prevent or delay your return to campus in August,” the letter states. “Immediately following FDA approval, students will be required to be vaccinated to access campus. Upon returning to campus non-vaccinated students will be charged a $1500 per semester Health & Safety fee to cover the costs of mandatory testing as outlined below.”

It continues on to say that “until FDA approval, the college is not requiring, but strongly recommending full vaccination for any individual who comes to campus. Additionally, Flu vaccines will continue to be required this fall.”

All students should submit their vaccination cards by August 1, 2021 to avoid the hefty fee.

Rhodes College Vice President for Student Life Meghan Weyant told WREG3 that they “believe a campus-wide commitment to vaccination will really allow us to do our part in getting our students back on campus for the academic experience that we know they so much want.”

Weyant claimed that the school has not received any push back regarding the policy.

“The response has been positive,” she said. “Students want to be back on campus.”

City of San Francisco to Employees: Get Vaccinated or Get Fired

Mercola | June 25, 2021

San Francisco is the first city in California — and possibly in the U.S. — to tell its employees to either get the COVID vaccine or get fired. The ruling affects all 35,000 city employees, the San Francisco Chronicle said.

Advocates for Black employees were quick to criticize the mandate, saying it could be more discriminatory to Black employees than others. While the vaccines are currently being administered under an emergency use authorization, employees will have 10 weeks to get the shots after the FDA approves at least one of the three currently being used.

Officials said they expected those approvals to come soon. Vaccination status will be kept in the city’s payroll system. Police and firefighters are included in the mandate, but teachers — who actually work for the school district — are not.

Franklin County Judge Including Mandatory Coronavirus Vaccine in Terms of Probation

Breitbart | 30 Jun 20210

Common Pleas Judge Richard Frye of Ohio’s Franklin County has been including mandatory coronavirus vaccines in the terms of defendants’ respective probations, attaching the stipulation to three of his recent cases.

“It occurred to me that at least some of these folks need to be encouraged not to procrastinate,” Frye said, according to the Columbus Dispatch, which said the judge openly discussed vaccination statuses with the defendants.

According to reports, none of the defendants cited religious, moral, or medical reasons for not yet getting the vaccine.

“I think it’s a reasonable condition when we’re telling people to get employed and be out in the community,” Frye added.

One of the defendants who received the condition, Cameron Stringer, “entered a guilty plea for one charge of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, for which he was sentenced to two years of probation,” per the Dispatch. A coronavirus shot is one of several conditions of his probation, court documents show.

Emphasis added:
  • Defendant shall attend and complete cognitive behavioral programming as determined by the Adult Probation Department.
  • Defendant shall complete any behavioral health assessments as determined by the Adult Probation Department and comply with any recommended treatment.
  • Defendant shall submit to random urine screens as directed by the Adult Probation Department. Defendant to undergo drug treatment if he tests positive for drugs including marijuana which has been persistent while on pretrial supervision.
  • Defendant shall obtain/maintain verifiable employment and/or successfully complete an employment program. To assist with his ability to gain employment, Defendant must get the COVID 19 vaccine within 30 days and provide proof to Probation Department.
  • Defendant shall have no new arrests or convictions.
  • Firearm to be returned to rightful owner.
The Dispatch suggests Frye is in uncharted territory, as it remains unclear just how “widespread this judicial practice is”:

Quote:Frye said he didn’t know if any other judges were doing anything similar. A spokesman for the Supreme Court, which oversees lower courts, said he didn’t know of any judges doing anything similar. However, he sent a link to a media report about a judge offering to shorten probation stretches for those who obtain a vaccine.

The judge’s incorporation of vaccine mandates as a condition of probation comes as the Biden administration continues in its efforts to get 70 percent of the eligible U.S. population vaccinated, although the White House has admitted it will fall short of reaching that goal by July 4.

The Biden White House placed the bulk of the blame on younger Americans, namely those 18-26, for refusing to get the vaccine. Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is urging parents to get their children vaccinated amid rising concerns of rare heart inflammation conditions developing primarily in young males after receiving the mRNA vaccinations.

The case is Ohio v. Cameron M. Stringer, No. 19CR 2268 in the Court of Common Pleas, Franklin County, Ohio Criminal Division.

Make-a-Wish Foundation Says It Won’t Help Terminally Ill Children Unless Their Entire Family is Vaccinated
Actor Rob Schneider says he will never work with them again.

Summit News | 28 June, 2021

The Make-a-Wish Foundation says it won’t help terminally ill children unless the child and their entire family has taken the COVID-19 vaccine, prompting actor Rob Schneider to end his relationship with the charity.

Yes, really.

Make-a-Wish president and CEO Richard Davis made the announcement in a video released last week, stating, “All wish participants, including your wish kid and any siblings, will need to be two weeks past completion of either a one-dose or a two-dose vaccine.”

“This is literally a new low for humanity,” remarked the Twitter user who posted the video. “Terminally ill children will not be granted a wish.. from the make a wish foundation… unless.. you guessed it.. they’re fully vaccinated.”

A two-tier form of discrimination which treats the unvaccinated as second class citizens is already underway in the form of vaccine passports, but to deny critically ill children support because they haven’t taken the jab is particularly cruel.

For one, many of the sick children may have medical conditions that prevent them from safely taking the vaccine.

In addition, according to official CDC guidelines, children under the age of 12 aren’t supposed to take the shot. The World Health Organization has also said “the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above.”

So Davis’ claim that the organization had consulted with “doctors and medical professionals throughout the National Medical Advisory Council” doesn’t even make sense.

Responding to the decision, actor Rob Schneider said he would permanently end his relationship with the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“Make-a-Wish will only grant wishes to terminally ill children who are fully vaccinated?!” While it has been an honor to work with this foundation over the years, if this policy of discrimination of children is true? I will never work with them again. Ever,” tweeted Schneider.
