ÊCONE, Switzerland (LifeSiteNews) — The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) is celebrating the consecrations of four new bishops today, July 1.

Bishops Bernard Fellay of Switzerland and Alfonso de Galarreta of Argentina will preside. The four priests to be consecrated are Fathers Michael Goldade (USA), Pascal Schreiber (Switzerland), Michael Poinsinet de Sivry, and Marc Hanappier (France) to the episcopate.

Despite many requests from the SSPX, the traditional order of priests founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1970, Pope Leo has not granted permission for the consecrations to take place.

We invite you to watch the ceremonies at the live link below:

"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre

In his sermon, the Superior General criticised a “false dilemma” between the Faith and the Church:

At the reading of the Papal Mandate for the episcopal consecrations, the liturgical announcement read like this (from Michael Haynes):
Quote:It is the Catholic & Roman church, always faithful to the traditions received from the apostles, who in entirely exceptional circumstances demands that we provide for the upholding of these traditions, that is the deposit of faith & that we take the means necessary to transmit them faithfully to all men for the salvation of their souls.

Since the Second Vatican Council up to the present day the authorities in the church have been animated by a spirit that is contrary to the faith & have been acting against holy tradition. They will no longer endure sound doctrine.

Hopeful comment of Cardinal Fernández to Mr. Michael Haynes:

"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp.
