The Cardinal did not take the precaution to ask the acolyte, who stands idle behind him, to hold a paten under the chalice to prevent particles of the Sacred Species from falling to the ground and being desecrated.

It is a good example of how one of the "lions of traditionalism" acts, in complete contradiction with what is habitually spread about him.

This Mass took place in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in East Lansing on May 27, 2021, as stated on the invitation below. The gifs were taken from excerpts of the original live stream footage of the Mass from the parish, which is no longer available online in its entirety.
